On Sunday, July 10th the Waxhaw Volunteers were dispatched to the Quellin Subdivision for a reported outside fire. Upon arrival of members they discovered a brushfire approximately 10′ x 10′ at the clubhouse and pool area of the subdivision. Engine-181 arrived shortly thereafter and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be embers from the charcoal grill that was used earlier in the day.
