The Waxhaw Community Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. is seeking input from the citizens they serve to help better understand the service levels expected of the fire department and rescue squad. Chief of Department Gregory Sharpe states “We are continually striving to provide those we serve with an optimal level of fire, rescue, and emergency medical service. We are now seeking input from those we serve as to what an optimal level of service looks like to them.” The fire department is scheduling several meeting dates and times to give citizens several opportunities to provide input.
The meeting dates and times are:
Wednesday May 17th at 12:00 pm
Friday May 19th at 7:00 pm
Tuesday May 23rd at 2:00 pm
Tuesday May 30th at 9:00 am
Wednesday May 31st at 7:00 pm
All meetings will be held at Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Station 18 at 3500 Waxhaw Parkway. The department is looking into having at least one meeting at Fire Station 27 on JAARS Rd and that date will be released via social media. Citizens attending the meetings will be given a brief 15 minute presentation on the current level of service provided and the future of the fire department. Citizens will be given a chance to ask questions and provide input after the presentation both verbally and through a short survey. The survey will also be posted on-line at www.waxhawvfd.org and on the Waxhaw VFD Facebook page www.facebook.com/waxhawvfd/. The on-line surveys will be available after the first meeting on May 17th.
If you have any questions about these sessions, please feel free to call the Waxhaw Community Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad at (704) 843-4001.
