Good evening residents of Waxhaw. We would like to share some very important safety information with you and your family. While we all enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July this year, it has come to our attention that some folks do not know how to discard used fireworks.

IF you are going to be letting off fireworks, please be sure to keep a safe distance between homes. It is best practice to have a garden hose and/or a fire extinguisher ready in case something does indeed go wrong. Have a large bucket full of water to place the used fireworks in and keep it at the end of your driveway. It is also recommended that you keep the bucket there over night but PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT PLACE THESE ITEMS DIRECTLY INTO A TRASH CAN OR DUMPSTER.
